Questionnaire for the Family Photoshoot

After we have scheduled a date for the photoshoot, I kindly ask you to fill out this questionnaire. This is important so that I can better prepare for our session and get to know you a little in advance. All information will, of course, be treated confidentially and is solely for my preparation for the photoshoot. Thank you in advance for your time!

The general terms and conditions apply.

Perfect Together – How to Master the Outfit Dilemma

Your curiosity, my answers!

FAQs about the family photoshoot

After we have scheduled an appointment, I will send you a link to my questionnaire. It contains all the important questions for my preparation. You can fill out the questionnaire online via my website.

From experience, I know that good preparation can have a significant impact on the final result – both in terms of clothing and, more importantly, the mood and willingness to be photographed. If we discuss a few points in advance, it will be much easier for us to capture lively and authentic photos of your family.

Tips for Choosing Clothing

The most important rule is: You should feel comfortable in what you wear! I photograph people and their emotions – not their outfits.

If you still need some recommendations for clothing selection, here are a few tips:

Avoid:

  • Large prints, logos, or text (they can be very distracting from the faces);
  • Thin, narrow stripes (they may create a moiré effect in photos);
  • Black, bright, or neon colors (black can sometimes work, but please use it carefully and ask me if in doubt);
  • Formal wear or overly strict outfits – casual clothing generally looks better in photos.

Good choices:

  • Natural colors;
  • Pastel tones;
  • Neutral colors like gray, beige, or white – these can be easily combined with other colors and always look great in pictures;
  • Coordinated colors within the family – either matching tones or complementary colors like blue and brown or green and burgundy;
  • Clothes that feel comfortable, are not too tight, and are of appropriate length.

Here you can also find some examples of family looks and color combinations.

And most importantly: If you have any additional questions or need advice while preparing, feel free to contact me. I am happy to help!

Depending on what you enjoy doing together, we can incorporate these activities into the photoshoot. Feel free to think of a few things you’d like to do—nothing too complicated, just something that naturally fits into your daily life (whether it’s baking, cooking, playing a board game, or simply cuddling :)). The most important thing is that you can relax and have fun on this day—I would love to capture these moments for you.

I strive to take natural and candid photos. However, I completely understand if you don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera right away. That’s totally normal! But don’t worry—I have a few tricks, and within 10 minutes, everything will feel relaxed and easy. Trust me, enjoy this time with your loved ones, laugh a lot, have fun, and just be yourselves.

I am also happy to take individual shots and classic portraits of each family member. If you’d like, I can guide you with posing suggestions to help you feel more confident in front of the camera.

I love photographing large families with multiple generations—grandparents and great-grandparents, siblings together. These images are unique and incredibly valuable for a family’s history.

However, this is also a completely different and more challenging type of family photography. Classic family portraits require a lot of experience, especially when it comes to posing.

Pricing

The standard family photoshoot price applies. Starting from the seventh person, there is an additional charge of €30 per person (including babies and children).

Planning the Photoshoot

After the initial contact, we will discuss the location for the session. I will then ask you to fill out my questionnaire so that I can prepare accordingly (including the names and relationships of all participants).

Since I frequently photograph large families, I have a recommendation: It’s very helpful to create a detailed list in advance of the different groupings you would like to capture (who should be photographed with whom). This helps ensure that no one and nothing is overlooked.

The same clothing recommendations I mentioned earlier apply here as well.

A family photoshoot outdoors or at your home usually lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours. However, the duration can vary depending on how smoothly the session goes and how many different shots are taken. If everything runs smoothly, it can be significantly shorter.

No worries! In fact, it’s even better to start in the afternoon or evening because the evening light creates a particularly beautiful atmosphere in the photos.

On weekends, I am usually booked for baptisms and weddings, and I also want to spend time with my own little children. However, if no other option is possible for you, we can definitely find a solution—with a weekend surcharge of €50.

A family photoshoot on a weekday costs €420, including all taxes, travel within Berlin, and everything else. You will receive all successful images with basic editing as a private digital gallery for download (typically 150-200 images).

In most cases, additional extensive skin retouching is not necessary for family sessions. However, if you’d like, you can order it for €5 per image. Additionally, I highly recommend a behind-the-scenes video of the session for €150.
